The Yetzirah Project, originally known as the Desperation Universe, is a collaborative writing effort by specific members of the Ghosts of the Antipode to write a full length science fiction novel feature within its own original stand-alone world. It is not intended to be related to other aspects of Ghosts fiction at this time, although sequels may be considered if the novel is successful. Yetzirah as I understand it means "Formation" in Hebrew, and the basic summary of the plot and its characters is intended to demonstrate the evolution of the human character, and the eventual spiritual re-awakening of humanity in the course of momentous and tragic events which force our race to leave the cradle of its birth and venture forward with renewed determination to a future amongst the stars. Quite a mouthful, eh? It's quite a task as well. A novel does not simply write itself, and no matter how much we try to draw comparisons to our past work with universe immersion, interconnectedness, and short stories... it's not the same thing. There's some long and some tough work in front of us, which is why only certain members will be accepted onto the writing team. As of right now, that consists of Victor and myself. In order to make significant contributions, writers need to be able to write well with peers, complete large writing assignments within strict deadlines, and participate actively in the outlining process. It will also require substantial "outside-the-box" thinking and ability to integrate diverse and complex concepts regarding theology, science, psychology, religions, culture, history, and other fields into coherent and self-emergent wholes. The outlining process will likely be completed soon, within the month at the outside. The completion of the other half of the story timeline should be finished around the same time if not earlier. And yes, the name has been changed as arbitrarily as it was originally set. It is a working name for the project and reflects absolutely no sentiment towards the work's final title; we may as well call the finished novel "Beginning of the Endless Journey" as "Yetzirah." It's all TBA when we finish. The original title for the universe was conceived before the final vision was really considered. Once that vision has been manifested, a more proper title may be given.
